The DT Alpine III® is the spoke with the lightest weight relative to its stability, achieved through a complex manufacturing process. Taking a 2.34 mm spoke, the diameter is reduced by cold-forging to 2 mm on the thread and 1.8 mm on the central part. Despite its light central part, the DT Alpine III® maintains maximum strength and reliability. It is especially suited for wheels bearing high loads, such as tandems or e-bikes.

These spokes have three different diameters. The thread and the middle part of the spoke are butted in the cold-forging process, making the thread diameter slightly smaller than the diameter at the head, leaving the central part of the spoke with the smallest diameter. The 3D spokes are adapted to handle oncoming forces at different points of the spoke, thus reducing weight while maintaining stability.
