Proven, successful and popular: the Minion DHF folding tyre by Maxxis

Probably the most driven and in recent years most successful downhill tyre in the world. Proven elements such as bevelled lugs for low rolling resistance and smooth running were combined with longitudinally slotted lugs for better grip on the edges. This gives it excellent directional stability and precise cornering behaviour. Additionally, the new puncture protection makes the tyre even more durable.

Note from the manufacturer:
Maxxis strongly advises against the use of ammonia-based sealant. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months, depending on the amount used.

At Maxxis, the 3C tread is moulded from 3 different rubber compounds in one piece and is not subsequently assembled from two strips. Therefore, the treads can be shaped exactly according to the requirements of the respective tyre model, thus optimising the riding characteristics.
The Freeride version of Maxxis 3C compounds. More grip and traction than the 3C MaxxSpeed compound, with less rolling resistance and longer durability than 3C MaxxGrip. The>
EXO+ Protection
This carcass combines EXO Protection with SilkShield puncture protection for even more protection and safety. The sidewalls are more stable, the puncture protection is significantly increased and the reinforced puncture protection on the tread rounds off the package.

Wide Trail (WT)
This design optimises the tread layout and tyre shape on today’s modern wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed for narrower rims and become square on wider rims, resulting in a less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension of 30 – 40 mm.

Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is reduced. Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other ” Tubeless Ready” tyres, because the bead of Maxxis TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a real UST tubeless tyre. As a result, tubeless mounting is successful for all rims with standard dimensions even during the first inflation and with little liquid.
