The THM-Carbones Clavicula SE crank is made exclusively of carbon (SE = sine exceptione = no restrictions / exceptions). It is a completely carbon crank with integrated carbon axle and unique construction. In order to perfect the cranks’ geometry and structure, THM carefully analysed all possible load combinations in the development phase. The result is an exceptionally stiff design, perfect for lossless power transfer. The patented connection between the left crank and the axle is also very special–it’s the first carbon-to-carbon interface at the heart of a road bike drivetrain. Aligning the fibres of the external and internal splines reduces wear to almost zero and eliminates noise. In addition, the Clavicula SE crank is lightweight, weighing barely over 300 grams with Spider.
