Perfectly equipped for all weather: The Forekaster folding tyre set from Maxxis
If the ground is deeper or the weather is more humid, then the choice falls on the Forekaster. The medium-high studs have an even spacing, which grip perfectly on trails with a loose layer over firm ground. For better self-cleaning on wet ground, the tread pattern is more open than on other Maxxis race tyres. Wide-notched centre studs brake impressively on slippery singletracks. The Forekaster makes you perfectly equipped for trails in all weather conditions.
Note from the Manufacturer:
Maxxis strongly advises against the use of ammonia-based sealant. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months, depending on the amount used.

Technology:
3C MaxxSpeed
At Maxxis, the 3C tread is moulded from 3 different rubber compounds in one piece and is not subsequently assembled from two strips. Therefore, the treads can be shaped exactly according to the requirements of the respective tyre model, thus optimising the riding characteristics.
Maxxis’s fastest 3C compound, for XC and some All Mountain/Enduro tyres, was designed with a hard base and a fast compound in the middle of the tread to have the lowest rolling resistance. However, with the grippy compound along the sides of the tyre it also offers superior grip in corners, even in the wet. Its long durability is also a typical feature for Maxxis.
EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewalls of various Maxxis MTB tyres. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tyres remains convincingly good.
Wide Trail (WT):
This design optimises the tread layout and tyre shape on today’s modern wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed for narrower rims and become square on wider rims, resulting in a less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 5 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension of 30 – 40 mm. Concerns tyres with a width of 2.4″ and above.
Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is reduced. Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other ” tubeless ready” tyres. The bead of the Maxxis TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tyre. As a result, tubeless mounting is successful for all rims with standard dimensions even during the first inflation and with little liquid.
